Nara earned a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude in Biology from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Summa Cum Laude in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico.
Nara studied Movement Analysis at the University of Utah through the Integrated Movement Studies program, with Peggy Hackney and Janice Meaden, earning her Certification in Laban-Bartenieff Movement Analysis in 2006.
Nara studied Core Synchronism, Polarity Therapy, and Massage Therapy at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in Albuquerque. She earned her certificate as a Natural Therapeutics Specialist in 2007. She earned her title as a Certified Core Synchronism Practitioner in 2008. She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in private practice since 2007.
Nara has practiced and studied Qi Gong and Tai Chi Ch'uan since 1991, and was invited to teach in 1997. She has studied Yang Family Style Tai Chi Ch'uan and Qi Gong with Bruce Moran of Chicago; and Yang Style Tai Chi Ch'uan, Sword Form and Push Hands Practice with Charles DiFillipo of Albuquerque, and Sifu Tin Cheung of Hong Kong. Nara has practiced Yoga since childhood, and studied Continuum-informed Yoga for seven years with Rima Miller. She has taught Yang Style Tai Chi Ch'uan, Qi Gong, Yoga, Laban, Bartenieff Fundamentals, African Dance, Dance for Children, and Science Stories through Movement K-5. Nara integrates her knowledge of movement therapies and movement education into her treatments and home-care exercises for clients.
